Greensburg Battery Locomotive (Steel Mill)

Operational history

OVCC's equipment collection will encompass all types of industry.  Ray Mercado from our group contacted American Cast Iron & Pipe located in Birmingham, Alabama about saving one of their unique narrow gauge battery locomotives or as they call it a "HOT METAL DINKEY".  They were pleased with the idea so we gathered a group of us to go inspect it & set up a loading time.  The trip was unbelievable.  Check out the pictures below on a few snap shots of the system.  We are very gracious for the donation.  Thank you American Cast Iron & Pipe Co.  and all the employees that helped make it possible.
