Greensburg Battery Locomotive (Steel Mill)

Operational history

OVCC's equipment collection will encompass all types of industry.  Ray Mercado from our group contacted American Cast Iron Pipe Co. located in Birmingham, Alabama about saving one of their unique narrow gauge battery locomotives or as they call it a "HOT METAL DINKEY".  They were pleased with the idea so we gathered a group of us to go inspect it & set up a loading time.  The trip was unbelievable.  Check out the pictures below on a few snap shots of the system.  We are very gracious for the donation.  Thank you American Cast Iron Pipe Co.  and all the employees that helped make it possible.
